JvM/Limmat: Conducted an experiment for Pro Infirmis

Many people with disabilities experience exclusion and discrimination instead of human closeness. To sensitize the population to this, the disability organization Pro Infirmis conducted an experiment together with Jung von Matt/Limmat.

A young man with a severe physical disability as a result of a craniocerebral trauma to the brain stem put on a bear costume. He stood with it in the middle of the street in Zurich's Niederdorf from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on March 5 and stretched out his arms. The result was numerous passers-by spontaneously approaching the bear, hugging and hugging him.

The action has resulted in a film. It concludes with the question, "Do we have to dress up to get closer?" The project was supported by the American indie stars 'The Band of Horses'. They provided one of their hits as a soundtrack. The music is intended to give the film an additional emotional charge.
A making-of on the action provides further background on the experiment and an interview with the disabled main character.
