Cannes Lions: Shortlist places for Swiss agencies

The Cannes Lions international advertising festival has begun on the Côte d'Azur. Swiss agencies have already secured numerous shortlist spots - FCB Zurich no less than six.

Promising start to the 2016 "Olympic Games of Advertising": FCB Zurich, a Swiss agency, has secured no less than six shortlist spots in three main categories. Unsurprisingly, the campaigns "The Great Escape" by Jung von Matt/Limmat, which have already won several awards - also internationally -, the Ikea catalog literary review by Wirz and Publicis' equal pay campaign for the Women's Center Zurich are also on the shortlist. Advico Y&R also made the shortlist with its "Bärenschiss" campaign for Helly Hansen Workwear Center.

The gang bingo for HC Davos - created by FCB Zurich and Werbewoche Advertiser of the Year finalist Dennis Lück - is a finalist in three subcategories at Direct Lions.

Together with Hellmuth Karasek, who has since passed away, Wirz and Ikea achieved a great success. The literary review of the Ikea catalog already won Epica- and Eurobest Gold. In Cannes, a lion could now join the trophy collection.

In two categories FCB Zurich has the pleasure to be awarded the Campaign "Search Racism. Find Truth" Hope for a lion.

Jung von Matt/Limmat's rolling postal parcels surprised not only passers-by, but apparently also the Cannes Lions jury: the campaign made it onto the list of finalists at the Direct Lions.

"The Great Escape": The Zurich agency also has a realistic chance of winning ACD Gold, Eurobest Gold and "Poster of the Year" for its direct mail from the Grisons mountains.

What seems absurd for products is reality in everyday life: women earn less because they are women. Publicis visualized this inequality for the Women's Center and once again convinced an award jury.

Advico can get its hopes up in the Promo & Activation category: The Winter closing campaign for the Helly Hansen Workwear Center lands on the shortlist.

The Swiss agencies in the categories Creative Effectiveness, Design, Product Design, Digital Craft cannot hope for a lion. (hae)
