SOM 2015: Call for Papers ends on November 30

The presentations at the Swiss Online Marketing and Swiss E-Business Expo will be awarded for the first time in a call for papers procedure for 2015. Exhibitors will also be given a new presentation format with the pitch.

Companies in digital marketing and e-business have until the end of November to register as exhibitors and take part in the call for papers procedure for the lecture program of the trade fair duo Swiss Online Marketing and Swiss E-Business Expo. The Swiss industry meeting point will once again bring together market participants, advertising companies and online retailers at Messe Zürich on April 15 and 16, 2015. "The rush for the presentation sessions at the Swiss Online Marketing and Swiss E-Business Expo is greater than ever, while at the same time the demands of trade visitors for high-quality input are increasing," says project manager Helge Browning, explaining the reasons for introducing the new Call for Paper procedure at the Swiss trade fairs for digital marketing & e-business.

In order to achieve a balanced variety of topics in the program, an expert jury will evaluate the submitted presentation topics from 1 December. Only the most innovative and high-quality presentation topics will be admitted to the practical forums. The criteria for a successful application include the best-practice character of the presentation, innovation and trend relevance, an international range of topics or the involvement of experts, for example in a panel discussion. "In principle, all exhibitors can apply for a presentation unit; the deadline is November 30," Browning continues.

New presentation option for exhibitors: the pitch

Exhibitors from the fields of mobile solutions (apps/ads), customer dialog/CRM, e-mail/direct marketing and e-commerce (web stores) will be given a new platform to convince potential customers of the benefits of their offering at the trade fairs: the pitch. The pitch is the further development of the contests successfully introduced this year, with the aim of offering exhibitors better visibility at the trade fair, more interaction with potential customers and a lasting presence at the trade fair.

A maximum of six exhibitors per pitch topic present the advantages of their solution in a contest on the presentation stage and answer questions from an expert and potential customers from the audience. At the MeetingPoint, in moderated discussion rounds for exchanging experiences, customers of two pitch participants then present application examples. These examples are also summarized with specialist articles, checklists and company profiles of the pitch participants in a booklet published by BPX-Verlag, which is available free of charge at the trade fairs and distributed via social media and online channels.
