Goldbach Media: Two more advertising windows for western Switzerland

After TF1, two more foreign TV stations, the French station W9 and the Luxembourg TV provider AB1, now each want to broadcast an advertising window in French-speaking Switzerland. This was announced yesterday at a roundtable discussion organized by Goldbach Media.

When asked, Raoul Gerber, Head of Sales at Goldbach Media, confirmed a corresponding report by ComIn magazine in French-speaking Switzerland. According to Gerber, the two newcomers want to launch their advertising windows this year, but the start dates are still open.

In both cases, distribution in particular still needs to be clarified. AB1, which is affiliated with RTL9, already has a commitment for analog distribution on Geneva's Naxoo cable network. Negotiations with other cable operators - in particular with Cablecom and the Lausanne city network - are still underway.

Not so W9, a sister station of M6, which is broadcast in France only in the digital domain, but is number 1 there. Gerber was not yet able to say whether W9 can expect anologous distribution in Switzerland. After all, W9 can already be received in Geneva - in the digital range of Naxoo. The station broadcasts series and docs, is "cheeky and completely oriented toward a young target audience," says Gerber.

Goldbach Media was asked to be the marketer of the two windows, Gerber added. This is an obvious choice, as Goldbach already markets the advertising windows of M6 and RTL9. "It would help us, because we are steadily losing viewers to the Internet and Facebook in the young target group." In addition to M6 and RTL9, Goldbach also markets Cartoonnetwork and the Swiss private station TVM3 in western Switzerland.
