What is so groundbreaking about the campaign for Open Systems that it went gold?
The campaign for Open Systems is groundbreaking in that it makes something virtual, namely computer viruses, quickly, simply and surprisingly visible and thus easily comprehensible for everyone.
How do you rate the level in your category? Do you see any new trends?
Schweizer: Big, good campaigns for big clients seem to be becoming rarer. Is this a trend? Then Kuoni is the outstanding exception.
How is the quality of this advertising vintage in general?
Schweizer: Overall about the same as other years.
Which works could have a chance at the Cannes Festival?
Swiss: Open Systems, Kuoni, Hakle and the Winner TV commercials.
What did you pay particular attention to during the evaluation?
Schweizer: On the criteria for bronze, silver and gold, as the ADC once chiseled them into marble.
The ADC is 25 years old: is that why you are setting the bar even higher than usual?
Schweizer: That would have been stupid. Quality has nothing to do with jubilee years.
