The media company integrates the B2B business of the Beobachter into the new subsidiary, creating a comprehensive, digital service platform for Swiss SMEs. All 20 employees of GRYPS will be taken over.

To expand its B2B activities, Ringier Axel Springer Switzerland last week acquired the offer portal Gryps. The Rapperswil-based company, which specializes in brokering products and services for SMEs, was founded in 2010 and has now successfully established itself on the market with more than 45,000 customers. SMEs receive on gryps.ch quickly and easily the desired offers and are personally advised by the experienced GRYPS team in the selection of products and providers - from the purchase of a telephone system to the choice of a marketing agency or the services of a fiduciary office. In the future, this offering will be supplemented with even more editorial service content, further advice and digital tools to create a comprehensive service platform for Swiss SMEs.

"The purchase of Gryps is a strategic decision to open up a new business area," says Alexander Theobald, CEO of Ringier Axel Springer Switzerland. "Our experience with the service offering of the Observer have shown that SMEs in particular have a very high demand for properly researched and prepared information. In the future, we will combine this expertise with Gryps' mediation service and existing content offering and create an innovative offering for Swiss companies. I am very pleased that we can now implement this vision together."

"In Ringier Axel Springer Switzerland we have found an ideal partner for the further development of our company," says Priska Schoch, co-founder and co-CEO of Gryps. "The combination of offer brokerage with high-quality service content is unique and creates a platform that makes everyday life easier for SMEs in a wide range of sectors. Switzerland has around 500,000 small and medium-sized enterprises - I am very much looking forward to further expanding our platform and working with our new colleagues."

The plan is to launch new offerings on the platform from mid-2022. The two Gryps founders Priska Schoch and Gaby Stäheli will take the lead as co-CEOs together with Maria De Bon as Chief Operating Officer and Urs Gysling as Chief Content Officer, who will work at the Observer-Group for the development of the B2B business and now joins Gryps on the Executive Board. Priska Schoch joins the extended management of Ringier Axel Springer Switzerland. Gryps AG will remain at its location in Rapperswil.
