Mobile shopping in particular is growing strongly. In this country, these are increasing by 32 percent year-on-year (Europe: 38 percent; USA: 25 percent). The frontrunners in purchases via smartphones, tablets & co. are the Danes with growth of 56 percent. The mobile share of all online transactions in Switzerland at Christmas time is 13.6 percent with smartphones and tablets. Across Europe, mobile devices contribute 16.5 percent to online Christmas business.In Europe, growth in the mobile sector continues: while traffic via tablets increased by around 30 percent, smartphone traffic grew by as much as 72 percent, certainly also boosted by larger smartphone screens.On the "Day of DaysOn December 8, the peak of online shopping during the Christmas season, every Swiss person spends an average of 12.42 US dollars (11.94 CHF). Across Europe, this figure is 8.91 US dollars (7.12 euros), while US shoppers invest an average of 8.06 dollars (6.44 euros) on Cyber Monday (Dec. 1). The Online Holiday Shopping Forecast has also made forecasts as to when the Christmas shopping season in Switzerland will actually pick up speed: It really got going in this country on November 10.
