The artistic director of the Deutsches Theater Berlin comments on the season's theme. "Fear nests on various levels. In social terms, there are the issues of globalization, acceleration, transparency, the media, plus the excesses of communication. All of this initially comes to the individual like an opportunity, but quickly becomes a threat, because it opens up a huge field of possibilities that makes him shrink again as an individual if he is not personally able to actually use one for himself among the thousand options."

Velvet's poster campaign for the season opening in Berlin takes up the central theme of "fear", manifesting it through a direct and in-depth headline and surprising image montages.

The "fear" depicted on the poster appears multilayered and controversial on the pictorial level through its connection with the puppet show. In addition to the obvious main motif, it thus receives further variants of interpretation, which take on their own irritating narrative dynamics.
