The agency ranking provides an overview of the communications and media agencies in Switzerland organized in the Leading Swiss Agencies (LSA) association. The ranking, which has been carried out without interruption since 2007, is regarded as a guide for advertising clients. The association currently has a total of 73 communications and media agencies.

Leading Swiss Agencies generated cumulative revenues of around CHF 410 million in 2016. The ranking is based on an evaluation of the gross operating revenues (BBE) achieved by LSA agencies for 2016. All agencies that were members of Leading Swiss Agencies on August 31, 2017, are listed in the 2017 ranking. Agencies that were admitted after this date are not yet listed in the 2017 ranking.

Explanations about the ranking

After an interruption of five years - due to the effects of the U.S. Securities Exchange Act "Sarbanes-Oxley Act" - the LSA ranking (formerly BSW ranking) was resumed in 2007. This means that comparisons with previous years are possible again.

Since 2014, companies that operate under the same brand in the market or have subsidiaries that are also LSA members have been grouped together.

The 2017 ranking is based on 2016 gross operating revenues. All agencies that were members of Leading Swiss Agencies on August 31, 2017 are listed in the 2017 ranking. Agencies that were admitted after this date are not yet listed in the 2017 ranking.
