Cannes Lions: Expansion of the Cyber category

The Cannes Lions Festival, which takes place in June 2014, announces significant changes within the "Cyber" category. Three new sub-categories have been added. The "Cyber" category now has a total of 9 sub-categories.

The three new sub-categories "Social", "Branded Technology" and "Branded Games" have been added - with the aim of driving development in the modern media landscape. In addition to evaluating the reach and creative use of social networks, the "Social" category also assesses how networks contribute to achieving a commercial effect. The "Branded Technology" category evaluates how various technologies are used to position a brand in the best possible way. In "Branded Games", the jury evaluates submissions with the greatest possible creativity to specifically emphasize the experiential value of a brand.

The "Cyber" category now has a total of 9 sub-categories: "Craft", "WebCampaign", "Web Platforms", "Online Ad", "Online Video", "Social", "Branded Games", "Branded Technology", "Integrated Multiplatform Campaign".

Philipp Thomas, CEO Lions Festival: "The Cyber category has undergone many changes since its inception in 1988. Due to the ever-changing digital world and the introduction of the Mobile Lions in 2012, it has become more important to redefine the structure and purpose of the Cyber Lions and to constantly update it."

The Cannes Lions Festival also presents the innovations of the Cyber Lions in a video.
