Goldbach Interactive launches Tour de Tweets

For this year's Tour de Suisse 2013, Goldbach Interactive presents the "Tour de Tweets": an interactive Twitter race based on the number of tweets sent around the Tour de Suisse.

During the Tour de Suisse from June 8 to 16, 2013, the web application "Tour de Tweets" offers every tweeting cycling fan a chance to win the yellow leader's jersey. Anyone can participate and work their way to the top by tweeting accordingly, according to a statement. In addition, the microsite offers up-to-date information about the most active cycling pros on Twitter and the team sponsors discussed on the social web. Thanks to Responsive Design, the Microsite can also be used on mobile devices. This way, visitors to the Tour de Suisse can tweet their experiences from the roadside on site, take part in the online "Tour de Tweets" race and find out about the current standings.

Like in the real race

The Twitter user who tweets most actively on the subject of the Tour de Suisse or is mentioned by others in this context rides in the yellow jersey. The Twitter racers improve their overall ranking on the one hand by using the hashtags #TdSuisse and #TourdeSuisse themselves. On the other hand, the "Tour de Tweets" riders can also be cheered on by their fans, just like in the real race: Through tweets mentioning them along with the hashtags mentioned above. While the top five users are in the leading group, the evaluation continues with the places 6 - 15 in the peloton. This makes it easy to see how many tweets a rider from the main group is still missing to catch up with the leading group. An update of the data takes place every 15 minutes. The finish and final overall classification is scheduled for June 16, 2013.

Twitter monitoring

Through targeted social media monitoring, all tweets related to the Tour de Suisse can be observed, cleaned up and evaluated. The analysis and Twitter ranking for the overall ranking on the microsite is made possible by the social media monitoring provider Brandwatch.
