ADC Switzerland: Frank Bodin new president

ADC wants to position itself for the future with a new board and a clear strategy. The new president of ADC is Frank Bodin.

At the general meeting on May 29, the previous four co-presidents Markus Gut, Alexander Jaggy, Markus Ruf and Martin Spillmann announced their resignation as planned. According to the new president Frank Bodin, the four had done an excellent job over the past four years: "With the efficiency of a four-wheel drive, they have ensured that the club is in such a good position today, both financially and in terms of reputation. Among other things, they initiated the opening strategy and revitalized the club through various events - including one with English creative legend John Hegarty."

Jaggy, Gut and Spillmann remain on the board, Markus Ruf resigns from the board due to time constraints. Frank Bodin was newly elected as president. Remy Fabrikant takes over the vice presidency. Nadine Geissbühler and Peter Brönnimann were newly elected to the board.

As a result, the ADC Executive Board is now composed as follows:

President: Frank Bodin
Vice President: Remy Fabrikant
Jury department: Markus Gut
Department Events/Creative Week: Remy Fabrikant
Department Events Gallery: Nadine Geissbühler
Training Department: Philipp Skrabal
Department Members: Alexander Jaggy
Public Relations Department: Peter Brönnimann
Department ADC of Europe: Martin Spillmann

"The Leading Creatives in Communication."

Frank Bodin wants to keep ADC Switzerland on course for the future and open it up with a clear positioning - expressed by the newly created claim "The Leading Creatives in Communication" - and a clear strategy. "The new office and gallery already expresses this," says Bodin. The club will now increasingly become a meeting and discussion place for creatives from the communications industry and aims to inspire through numerous exhibitions, readings and events. "By the way, our numerous partners and sponsors will also benefit from this," says Bodin.

In addition, the club wants to increasingly address designers, photographers, illustrators, architects, filmmakers, musicians and creatives from the digital sector with its program in the future. The reorientation and opening-up is intended to bring about changes in the membership structure and help attract new members from other fields and from other regions such as Western Switzerland or Ticino.

With the new orientation, ADC has also revised its corporate identity and presented it at the general meeting. The design implemented by Ralph Halder is fresher and tidier - the typography in the Swiss graphic tradition has remained as well as the logo in the form of a triangle, which is now also a cube.

ADC Switzerland goes digital

The general meeting had to vote on numerous motions, including considerable investments in IT. In the future, the judging process will be digitalized. The website and ADC's social media presence are also being completely revamped and are to become an inspiring platform for the creative industries.

ADC Hall of Fame

One of the many innovations is the "Hall of Fame" in place of honorary membership - ADC members who have made a special contribution to creativity in the Swiss communications industry are thus honored in a special way. The "Hall of Fame" includes the previous honorary members Jean Etienne Aebi, Michael Conrad, Christian Jaquet, Hans Ulrich Schweizer, Uli Wiesendanger and Hansjörg Zürcher. At this year's general meeting, Heinz Theophil Butz and Reinhold Weber were honored and inducted into the "Hall of Fame" with great applause.

Werbewoche talked to the new president about God and the world - or rather about advertisers, advertising and communication. Read more in the next print edition of Werbewoche (Friday, June 7):
- what Frank Bodin is doing about bad moods in his agency,
- which drives him up the wall,
- which he would never advertise,
- why he drives a Porsche,
- for which he spends an unreasonable amount of money,
- and which advertising promises he can no longer hear.
