Swiss sports television SSF with new direction

The Swiss marketing organization for private electronic offline media Goldbach Media and Swiss sports television SSF are dissolving their marketing agreement by mutual consent as of the end of August 2012. Swiss sports television SSF is seeking a realignment.

SSF - from November 1 now called "Sport Szene Fernsehen SSF" - will gradually expand its program offering in close cooperation with SSF Media as a new content and production partner. Reporting on Swiss sports will continue to be the main focus in primetime, the TV station announced on Friday. At the same time, SSF is opening up to new programming content by expanding its programming concept to include the "Scene" area.

The programming additions are made possible by an agreement with UPC Cablecom, which guarantees program distribution without Bakom requirements. SSF intends to make targeted and innovative use of the new freedoms this opens up in programming and marketing, without deviating from its mission to be a showcase for Swiss sports. Rather, the existing sports offering will be supplemented and expanded with new content in a targeted manner, so that the demand for a full program can be met even better, the statement continues.

Innovations in the Board of Directors

The previous Board of Directors of United Sport Productions USP TV, the organizer of the SSF program, under Pascal Jenny, will be responsible for strategic management. In the future, SSF founder Peter Weigelt will also be back on the USP Board of Directors. Tom Mörker will become a new member of the Board of Directors. The marketing and communications professional and co-founder of SSF Media has many years of experience in the moving image business.

New partner

While SSF's programming has gained a high level of acceptance over the past 3 years, it has not been possible to achieve the defined objectives in marketing, the TV station writes in the statement. The cooperation with SSF Media as a new content and production partner is intended to provide new impetus, especially in terms of marketing and distribution. In addition, SSF Media has brought on board Matthias Luchsinger, an expert who, as a long-standing professional, knows the Swiss TV advertising business inside out. In addition, Philip Michel, who has been with SSF for many years, will be responsible for the station's program management as a further member of the executive board.

Sport remains the focus

During the initial phase of the new partnership, the SSF program will continue unchanged. From November 1, 2012, the program will be successively expanded and enriched with new content. In addition, the path taken of networking with an online offering will be further advanced.
