APG|SGA appeals in Geneva

APG|SGA appeals against the award decision published by the City of Geneva on November 16, 2016. This relates to the marketing and management of analog poster panels on public land in the city of Geneva as of January 1, 2017.

In summer 2016, the city of Geneva put its analog advertising media out to tender. For a total of 470 spaces in the commercial formats F12, F200, and F200L, as well as 1,032 spaces in the F4 format, providers were able to submit a bid. APG|SGA submitted a bid to the City of Geneva on time.

Like Bilan reported, APG|SGA lost a hundred-year monopoly when the city of Geneva awarded the contract to Neo Advertising. A year earlier, APG|SGA had already lost the Geneva Airport advertising space to the same competitor.

APG|SGA will not accept the award decision made by the City of Geneva on November 16, 2016, for legal reasons, the company wrote in a statement on Tuesday evening. The deadline for appeal was December 16, 2016, and the company has made use of this legal remedy.

Due to the unclear legal situation and the short-term decision to award the concession, the company has tried to find "an interim solution that makes sense and is practicable for all sides" in the interests of customers and all those involved, it adds. However, no agreement was reached with the city of Geneva and the new concessionaire, writes the company, which was founded in Geneva in 1900.

APG|SGA would therefore no longer be allowed to accept any new bookings for the affected areas on public land and would transfer the existing orders from advertising customers to the valid alternative areas on private land and on station premises after consultation.

One regrets this development and will inform about changes concerning the reservation situation immediately, so the message. (pd/hae)
