Julia Panknin becomes Head of Strategic Projects at 20 Minuten

Julia Panknin, currently Head of Projects and member of the Editorial Management, will be appointed Head of Strategic Projects at 20 Minuten as of the beginning of May 2022. In this newly created position, she will report directly to Marcel Kohler, Managing Director of 20 Minuten.

At the beginning of May, Julia Panknin will be promoted to the newly created staff position of Head of Strategic Projects, reporting directly to the Managing Director of 20 minutes, Marcel Kohler. In this function, she is responsible for strategy-relevant projects, such as the transformation processes surrounding the social media-first strategy.

Julia Panknin has been with 20 minutes at the end of 2016. After working in the People/Entertainment and Digital/Science departments, the journalist took over as Head of the Community department and Head of App at the end of 2016. In addition to the print and online daily business, in this role she was responsible for commentary management and was involved in the further development of the 20 minutes-app. In addition, she built the 20 minutes-activities on the social platforms. In 2018, Julia Panknin also took over the internal project management of the 20 minutes Youth Lab. In the following year, she built up a team of professional content creators and developed an initial social media strategy with them, which has been further developed into a social media first strategy by a project team in the editorial and publishing departments since the end of 2021.

As a result, she was promoted to Head of Projects and Editorial Director in 2020. In this role, Panknin designed and was responsible for various projects with an editorial focus over the past two years. For example, the cross-group quality monitoring and the expert networks of commuter media in Switzerland, Luxembourg and Austria, which she will continue to manage in the future.
