Media group ESH Médias announces cooperation with La Liberté
The French-speaking Swiss media group ESH Médias is terminating its cooperation agreement with the Fribourg daily La Liberté at the end of April. For the latter, this termination could have consequences from 2023.
According to Serge Gumy of the Liberté-publisher Paulusgruppe to several hundred thousand francs. The director of this company thus confirmed a report of the West Swiss radio RTS on Tuesday.
This year, the termination will not yet have any impact on the workforce, Gumy added. However, he could not rule out measures for the coming year.
La Liberté ESH Médias supplies articles for the domestic, foreign and business pages of newspapers Arcinfo (Neuchâtel/Jura Arc), Le Nouvelliste (Valais) and La Côte (Morges/Nyon VD regions). The cooperation of the Fribourg daily newspaper with the publisher of these newspapers has existed since 2016.
When asked, Jacques Matthey of ESH Médias said between his company and the Liberté there was no conflict. ESH Médias wants to change the cooperation with the Fribourg newspaper in such a way that in the future the national topicality is better linked to its impact on the regions, in particular Valais and Neuchâtel.
