SRF launches reportage format "Rec.
SRF has launched the new online reportage format "Rec. Reporters report weekly on topics that move people and respond to the reactions of the community. The first episode is about the controversial "Critical Mass" bicycle parade.
Every week, the approximately 20-minute reportage format "Rec." dives into scenes, microcosms and life worlds that are intended to move the audience and reportage enthusiasts. In "Rec.", which stands for "Record", the young reporters take their cameras to where life happens, report from a real and unfiltered perspective and make their thoughts and feelings transparent to viewers. Each report is followed by a "Rec." edition that responds to feedback and reactions from the community. For example, the reporters answer questions from the audience, respond to critical feedback or elaborate on aspects from the report.
"Rec." is one of SRF Kultur's development mandates to realize new offerings or further develop existing programs for digital use. SRF Kultur's goal is to reach an audience between 25 and 35 years old in German-speaking Switzerland with the contributions on the YouTube channel "SRF DOK.
First broadcast online
The first "Rec." report entitled "Critical Mass - Umstrittener Veloumzug" has been online since Tuesday on the YouTube channel of SRF DOK and on Play SRF. It picks up on the current theme that on the last Friday of every month, thousands of cyclists all over the world cycle together through cities. The report explores the question of whether the "Critical Mass" is just a big party on wheels or a youth movement with serious concerns. To get answers, "Rec." reporter Simon Reinker mingles with the "critical mass".
Young and new reporters
The team includes young reporters between the ages of 27 and 34, all of whom will be on assignment for "Rec." on a part-time basis and will also be featured in the reports. The new team is led by Ilona Stämpfli, who has been working at SRF DOK since December 2020. In addition, Vanessa Nikisch, a longtime reporter at SRF DOK, accompanies and coaches the "Rec." team in their stories and reportages as a senior producer. The team consists of Simon Reinker, Caroline Beck, Robin Pickis, Viktoria Kuttenberger, Donat Hofer, Anna Kreidler and Livio Chistell.
