Zürichsee Medien: Beat Lauber new Managing Director

The Board of Directors of Zürichsee Medien has appointed Beat Lauber as its new Managing Director. As of January 1, the 58-year-old replaces Theodor Gut, who intends to concentrate fully on being Chairman of the Board of Directors in the coming months.

This was announced by the company on Thursday. The 66-year-old Gut intends to retire definitively in June 2015, the statement said. The new CEO Beat Lauber is then also to become chairman of the board of directors of Zürichsee Medien. Lauber held management positions in the publishing industry for 25 years. At Curti Medien Group, for example, he was publishing director and a member of the executive board. In 1996, he was responsible for the magazine division and new media at Ringier AG before being elected to the Group Executive Board in 1998.

Four years later, Lauber moved to the NZZ Media Group, where he was Managing Director of FPH Freie Presse Holding, overseeing regional newspapers, regional radio stations and television stations. In 2010, Lauber set up his own business and concentrated on various board of directors mandates. He will continue to handle these mandates after taking over the management of Zürichsee Medien AG.

Zürichsee Medien, based in Stäfa, is the parent company of the regional stations Radio Zürichsee and Radio Bern 1, as well as the advertising broker Zürichsee Werbe. In 2014, the company reported sales of CHF 32 million with 100 employees. (SDA)
