Change in the management of Ringier Entertainment

Marco Castellaneta übergibt die Geschäftsführung von Ringier Entertainment per 15. September an Stefan Kastenmüller, der von der Ufa Film & TV Produktion kommt.

Marco Castellaneta will concentrate on a new area of responsibility at his own request after a sabbatical and further training: As Chairman of the Board of Directors of Rose d'Or, the 46-year-old will expand festival activities in Lucerne and strengthen the international TV competition. As part of his board of directors mandates at Energy and SMC, he represents Ringier in the radio business.

Stefan Kastenmüller (pictured above) will be the new Managing Director Entertainment. The 48-year-old native of Munich was Head of Marketing (GSA) at MTV Networks in London and founded the advertising and film production agency "Katze Productions" in 1996. In 1999, Kastenmüller became managing partner of the brand agency Argo Brand and managing director of the Internet agency Argonauten in Munich. In 2003, he took over as Deputy Managing Director and Director of Marketing & Adsales at the Walt Disney Company's children's TV channel Jetix, becoming CEO in 2006 and responsible for the pay-TV business, co-productions, program buying, licensing & merchandising.

Since August 2009, Kastenmüller has worked at Ufa Film & TV Produktion in Potsdam, where he was responsible for expanding the strategic business areas, especially in corporate media, talent management, merchandising & rights for Ufa Cinema and branded entertainment for companies and brands. As Managing Director of Ufa Brand Communication, Kastenmüller had been a member of Ufa's Management Board since March 2010. Ufa is the holding company for all German production activities of Fremantle Media, which operates the global production business of RTL Group, part of Bertelsmann.

Kastenmüller will take up his new position at Ringier on September 15, 2011.
