Social media marketing: Tamedia invests in sponsorship marketplace Picstars 

Tamedia participates as an investor in the sponsoring marketplace Picstars and supports the further development of the platform for talents, events and brands. Picstars markets the social media reach of talents and event visitors.

With Picstars, companies can find suitable talents as brand ambassadors who can communicate photo/video and hashtag campaigns, product placements or real-time advertising campaigns of brands via their own social media channels. In the Picstars Cockpit, companies can directly create campaigns and find ambassadors that match the brand, as well as set a budget for the campaign. The companies benefit from the qualitative reach of the talents on social media and can check the success of the campaign live in the Picstars Cockpit. Brand ambassadors earn based on performance according to the interaction achieved by their social media posts. Companies can also use the Picstars app at events, for example to spread fan campaigns directly via the social media channels of event visitors. In addition to Tamedia, other investors include Zürcher Kantonalbank and the venture capital platform investiere.ch.

Picstars is currently focusing on young athletes as brand ambassadors who actively use social media and thus achieve considerable reach and interaction with their posts. Mark Sandmeier, CEO and co-founder of Picstars, has already helped build one of the most successful Swiss online platforms as co-founder of the job portal Jobs.ch: "We are enormously pleased about Tamedia's investment.
