The subway station with cats instead of advertising has become a reality.

Remember the "Last but not least" from May 3, 2016 "All for the Cat"? At that time we presented you the English Kickstarter project which wanted to buy the entire advertising space of a subway station to fill it with cat pictures. We have already reported several times on original crowdfunding campaigns - unfortunately, it often remained with the original idea. The cat station is different: it has now been put into practice. The tube station Clapham Common now belongs to the cats for two weeks.

Contrary to some fears, the project has not turned out to be a campaign for a brand. As promised, the Citizens Advertising Takeover Service (CATS) is simply campaigning for people to see more cats and less advertising in their everyday lives. The creative collective Glimpse, which is located behind the Action is made up of volunteers. Some of the cats shown are those of generous supporters (2500 pounds), most are from cat placement programs of charitable organizations. They were posed for the campaign by professional photographers. More than 700 people have brought the campaign to life with financial contributions, according to initiator James Turner in a Blog post writes.

Advertising criticism can be so ingenious. Especially when it comes along on velvet paws. (hae)
