Just Eat launches advertising campaign with Katy Perry

Swiss online food delivery service provider Just Eat is launching a 360° campaign featuring pop star Katy Perry, accompanied by the slogan "Dänksch au grad a Just Eat".

In the commercial, Katy Perry sings about and celebrates her favorite dishes, which are available to order on the Just Eat platform. The new advertising campaign follows on from the success of the former "Did Somebody Say" feat. Snoop Dogg campaign in the Anglo-Saxon region and is now also being rolled out in Switzerland.

To kick off the campaign, Just Eat is launching a new TV spot featuring the pop icon not only spouting the joy of her received food delivery, but also singing about the variety of dishes on the platform.

The new advertising campaign is a continuation of the previous campaign, which was carried out with Snoop Dogg and initially played out in the United Kingdom, Australia and Canada. The striking slogan "Did Somebody Say" (Swiss version: "Dänksch au grad a Just Eat") has already found a place in everyday language there,as well as winning a number of marketing awards. The successful formula is now being rolled out in all countries, including Switzerland, where Just Eat Takeaway.com, the parent company of Just Eat, is present.

The TV commercial was created by McCann London. In true Katy Perry style, the commercial shows the singer opening the door to the Just Eat driver and inviting him into her home. This is reminiscent of a doll's house. While the driver hands over the food, Katy Perry shows a tour of her colorful world with fancy costumes, dolls playing the piano and a large selection of food.

In addition to the TV spot, Just Eat gets a refreshed visual appearance and slogan. The campaign is activated through a media strategy that aims to win over streets, hearts and screens in Switzerland and is supported by social media and PR activities.

Lukas Streich, Country Manager Switzerland at Just Eat, says: "The advertising campaign "Dänksch au grad a Just Eat" reflects the wide variety of dishes available on our platform - whether breakfast, lunch, snacks for in between or the Pizza Margherita after a party. Katy Perry, with her creative lyrics, diverse, buty and refreshing style, is a perfect fit for our offering and our target audience."

Directed by music video veteran Dave Meyers, who previously shot the videos for Perry's global hits "Swish Swish" and "Firework," the spot takes on an authentic and playful Katy Perry feel, while Alice in Wonderland's costume designer provides a lively and quirky style.

Music and lyrics were developed jointly by Katy Perry, Kris Pooley, McCann London and the team responsible for the original title with Snoop Dogg. The campaign was conceived by Ben Buswell and Jo Griffin and shot in Los Angeles with production company Radical Media. The photos are by Vijat.

Katy Perry says, "Working with Just Eat Takeaway.com was a natural experience and fun. It just so happens that most of my albums and songs have a culinary connection, from strawberries to peppermint to mushrooms. Ordering food is part of a normal Saturday night for me and it was fun to put that into a video. The result is a combination of the things I enjoy: bright colors, wild outfits and puns about food, set to a tune that invites you to sing along."

Rob Webster and Alexei Berwitz, Creative Directors at McCann London explain, "Just Eat Takeaway.com has always understood that food delivery is more than just food: We're excited to promote the "Did Somebody Say" campaign in more markets than ever before and to have Katy Perry as a featured performer"

The new advertising campaign has been running since the end of May 20922 on various stations in Switzerland and can also be seen on social networks and as outdoor advertising.
