Two filmmakers explore their questions about retirement planning with experts from BLKB

Making their own questions the content of a commissioned work: this is what Lukas Gähwiler and Florian Lukas Huber did with a video trilogy about their own retirement provision for the Basellandschaftliche Kantonalbank BLKB.

The topic of retirement provision is often neglected by self-employed people. In Switzerland, for example, a quarter of self-employed people have no pension provision other than the AHV.

"What does my financial situation actually look like in old age? How high will my AHV pension be? What specific options do self-employed people have to supplement their retirement pensions? How do financial investments and the financial market work: are these constructs safe and ethical? "

Lukas Gähwiler and Florian Lukas Huber ask themselves these and similar questions in the three-part web series "Retirement planning for self-employed people" and find answers from experts at Basellandschaftliche Kantonalbank.

"Corona's income replacement allowances gave me a taste of what my state pension would be like in my old age - it made me think. I approached BLKB with the idea of putting this topic on film," explains commercial filmmaker Lukas Gähwiler.

"Lukas Gähwiler had previously implemented classic commissioned works for us. His concept for the video trilogy was refreshing and managed to highlight the complex topic of retirement planning in a simple and understandable way from the perspective of the target group," says Nadja Schwarz, Head of Corporate Communications at BLKB.

The three five-minute episodes of the web series answer key questions and provide concrete approaches to retirement planning so that self-employed people " fall a little less hard in old age," as Florian Lukas Huber concludes in the series.
