MRB creates "small wonders of the world" for Swiss parks

On behalf of the Federal Office for the Environment FOEN and the Swiss Parks Network, the agency Metzger Rottmann Bürge has realized a comprehensive campaign.

There are 19 federally funded Swiss parks in Switzerland. The Swiss National Park is the best known and oldest. All parks belong to the most original natural and cultural landscapes in Switzerland. For only here do people treat every piece of nature and culture with such attentiveness that you can discover a small wonder of the world at every turn and in every detail. Some are sensational, many bloom in secret. But they all have one thing in common: they are just waiting to be admired and appreciated.

With the new campaign, which Metzger Rottmann Bürge has realized on behalf of the Federal Office for the Environment FOEN and the Swiss Parks Network, the whole of Switzerland is invited to visit these small wonders of the world. The cross-media campaign has been on air throughout Switzerland since June 5 and will run for four years.

In the new TV spot, residents of Swiss parks show their little wonders of the world and invite the public to discover them. In doing so, the protagonists draw attention to supposedly everyday things in their park that appear in a whole new light thanks to their efforts. They proudly present in their own language and dialect what constitutes the natural and cultural diversity of our parks. And what there is to discover only in the Swiss parks - nothing but small wonders of the world.

At the heart of the campaign is the campaign hub Smallworldwonders.ch, where visitors' "little wonders of the world" shared on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, as well as stories and offers from the 19 parks, inspire.

Surprise invitations to well-known personalities also follow at regular intervals. The first invitation of this kind was extended on May 12 by Chantal Torche, hostess at the Métairie de Dombresson in the Parc régional Chasseral: she invited the two star chefs Franck Giovannini (Restaurant de l'Hôtel de Ville, Crissier) and Sven Wassmer (Restaurant 7132 Silver, Vals) to jointly bridge the Rösti divide in culinary terms on the neutral terrain of her Métairie on May 23, 2017. These invitations will be documented as short films and published on the campaign hub and by media partners.

The Swiss parks

The federal government has been promoting the establishment and operation of Swiss parks since December 2007 with the aim of preserving and developing their high natural and landscape values. They are also intended to promote the local economy; around one third of their area is used for agriculture. The federal government has therefore introduced the Swiss Parks product label for products and services from the parks. These foodstuffs must meet the standards of certified regional products and be produced mainly within the park. To date, producers have already had over 1200 products certified.
