Today, stays in hotels are more than the old familiar pattern: check in, spend the night, shower, have breakfast, check out. Hotel guests expect regeneration and inspiration. In short - added value. In collaboration with Wallpaper magazine, Swissôtel Hotels & Resorts has developed the Vitality Room and created a design for it. A novel hotel room concept that was presented as a world premiere at Swissôtel Zurich in early October. With an impressive installation in Zurich's main train station, a broad public has now been shown what new perspectives this opens up for the future.

The Vitality Room - that is the greatest possible regeneration in the smallest possible space. To promote this product promise, on October 25, 2016, an art installation in the form of a 48square meters of walk-in Ames Room built. A room whose walls and textures are distorted in a trapezoidal shape to create optical illusions. Viewed from a peephole, the room appeared to be an ordinary room with the walls perpendicular to each other and to the floor and ceiling. If two people of the same height stood in these corners, one appeared much smaller than the other. In other words, this is a room that allows guests to literally outgrow themselves. True to the motto: Vitality Room. A new perspective on hotel rooms.

Leading manufacturers such as Interel, Philips Lighting, Vitra, IQAir, Dornbracht, Laufen, NOHrD, Dinesen, Lasvit and many more were recruited for the ambitious undertaking. The world's first Vitality Room was built on the space of a two-room suite at the Swissôtel Zurich and can be booked now from 380 Swiss francs per night.
