Cannes Lions: Film bronze for Ruf Lanz and FCB Zurich at the end

At the end of the Cannes Lions Festival of Creativity 2016, the Swiss agencies Ruf Lanz and FCB Zurich strike again and win bronze in the supreme discipline of film.

Ruf Lanz wins in the film category "Entertainment & Leisure" with the spot "Second Chance" a bronze Lion. The owner-managed agency thus manages the feat of achieving a complete success with its only film submission. In the spot, Ruf Lanz shows for the Museum Haus Konstruktiv that the very first experience with circles, triangles and squares is difficult. And that constructive shapes therefore deserve a second chance. The spot was filmed with a specially prepared camera directly from a shape sorting game, with a toddler in the leading role. Ruf Lanz is the fourth Swiss agency to win a Lion at this year's Cannes Lions.

At the end of an almost perfect festival, FCB Zurich crowns its outstanding performance on the Côte d'Azur with a film bronze. In the film category "Use of Online Film", the agency secured its sixth Lion with the campaign "Search Racism. Find Truth" campaign, the agency won its sixth Lion under the creative direction of Werbewoche Advertiser of the Year finalist Dennis Lück. He leaves FCB mid-year for Jung von Matt (Werbewoche.ch reported) and leaves behind at the Heinrichstrasse a well-stocked trophy cabinet. FCB Zurich succeeded in winning several lions with two campaigns at once. The gang bingo for HC Davos won three silver medals, and the YouTube campaign "Search Racism. Find Truth" campaign won the agency not only silver but also three bronze medals.

The Grand Prix at the Film Lions was won by the Adam&Eve DDB London agency with the Longfinger campaign (presented in the "Last but not least" from 13.7.2015).

Even if the Swiss agencies were denied the golden total success this year: They start their journey home with an excellent total result of eleven lions. A comeback of the German-speaking Swiss agencies, who last year were unable to win a single award. And it's already clear that the battle for the top of the Werbewoche creative rankings this year - in contrast to the Saatchi & Saatchi-dominated 2015 - is really exciting again. After Cannes, FCB Zurich is another agency that wants to have a say in the battle for the top spots. (hae)
