Maxomedia: Bernhard Herzig becomes new CEO

Change at the top of Maxomedia. Bernhard Herzig, the co-founder and former Head of Digital, will take over the management of the agency on October 1. He succeeds Roman Hirsbrunner.

Herzig and Hirsbrunner founded Maxomedia together in 1996. Over the past 17 years, they have built up the agency from a two-man garage business to an innovative 50-man agency. Now the two are going their separate ways for the first time. Why? "We made the decision together, and it wasn't an easy one," says Herzig. We achieved a lot together, combined the Internet and advertising in an early form and helped shape the development of cross-media communication. And finally, they won a Cyber Lion in Cannes this year.
Now both the agency and the two founders are ready for a change. "We want something new, we want to develop personally and professionally," says Herzig.

Bernhard Herzig is the first digital officer to take the helm at Maxomedia. Does this have consequences for the direction of the agency? Herzig says no: "As a co-founder, I have already had an influence on the agency. And we still attach great importance to an integrative approach between creation, consulting and development. But perhaps it is a sign of the times that the digital aspect is also becoming increasingly important in management.

Herzig will continue to be supported by Reto Schild as Head of Creation and Philipp Tellenbach as Head of Human Resources, Finance and Administration. Frank Salathé, who has already been working for Maxomedia for around two years, will join the management team as Head of Digital. In the course of these changes, the former Partner and Head of Consulting René Schwarz has also decided to change direction and leave Maxomedia.
