Amnesty International: People disappear every day

Amnesty International has developed a campaign dedicated to the disappearance of people. The oppressive campaign was designed in cooperation with Mediaplus.

The campaign was launched at the airport in Munich in counter hall 2. Mediapuls and Amnesty International literally made people disappear using a camera, a giant monitor and technical tricks. For this purpose, the camera was placed behind a monitor in a highly frequented gallery and was thus able to faithfully capture the real images of waiting people in the counter hall, which were obscured by the screen. By means of masks made from images of the deserted hall, it was possible to make specific people disappear on the monitor. This is how Ekki Frenkler, creative director of the Mediaplus Group, explained the procedure according to Horizon.net.

Amnesty International is now distributing the video resulting from this action via social media. The film runs under the claim "Every day people disappear. With a donation you help to find them again". At the end of the spot, a QR code is displayed that takes smartphone users to the Amnesty International website. Users can find more information about the campaign and also learn how they can support the organization with donations.
