Simona Caminada becomes SRF Italy correspondent

After several years as a domestic correspondent for the canton of Graubünden, Simona Caminada will move to Italy as a foreign correspondent for television in the summer of 2022. She will take over from Philipp Zahn, who will then move to the editorial department in Zurich.

Simona Caminada holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Zurich in journalism, communication and film studies. She then studied at the University of Hamburg and at the MAZ Media Training Center in Lucerne, graduating with a Master of Arts in Journalism.

The 34-year-old made her debut at SRF at the end of 2009 as part of internships in media relations and on the editorial staff of the "Tagesschau" news program.

From mid-2011, Simona Caminada worked in various positions at Radio SRF. At the beginning of 2016, she switched within SRF from radio to television, where she has been working as a TV correspondent for the canton of Graubünden and, on a temporary basis, for the canton of Ticino since the summer of 2016. Now Simona Caminada will take over the TV correspondent position in Rome in summer 2022. She succeeds Philipp Zahn, who has been reporting from Italy for SRF since 2013 and will then move to the editorial department in Zurich.

Simona Caminada: "Politically and economically, (almost) no stone has been left unturned in Italy for years. For me as a journalist, this is an extremely exciting field. That's why I'm very much looking forward to this challenging task and to portraying this multi-layered country in all its facets."
