Collective labor agreement for SRG employees renewed

The Swiss Syndicate of Media Workers SSM and SRG have agreed on a new collective labor agreement: According to the union, it provides for longer maternity and paternity leave and allows employees to retire at the end of their careers without losing their pensions.

With the improved collective labor agreement, which comes into force on January 1, 2022 and is initially valid until the end of 2025, SRG is sending a positive signal, writes SSM. SRG is prepared to "guarantee decent conditions for the work of its employees" even in times when the media industry is in crisis. This contributes to the quality of SRG productions.

The collective labor agreement should have been renewed already this year. However, several rounds of negotiations had to be canceled in 2020 due to the corona pandemic. As a result, SSM and SRG agreed to extend the current contract until the end of 2021. (SDA)
