Every two weeks, Güzin Kar will write exclusively in the culture section of the paper about everything that drives Swiss people in their search for personal happiness: Love, urges, sex, hopes, fears and abysses. The title of the weekly column is "Die Triebtäterin.

"We are very much looking forward to working with Güzin Kar," says Peer Teuwsen, head of the culture department at the NZZ on Sunday. "Her idea of plumbing the private trials and tribulations of modern people in a kind of serialized novel won us over right away. With good reason: Kar has a great gift for distorting our modern lives beyond recognition through exaggeration."

Kar is a Zurich screenwriter, film director and columnist. After studying German and film studies, she graduated from the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg. Kar writes and directs for cinema and television. Her works have won several awards. Her most recent successes include "Seitentriebe," an award-winning SRF series dealing with sex in long-term relationships.
