Eastern Switzerland weekly "A" published

Around 100 invited guests were present at the printing center in Winkeln on Wednesday, August 16, when the first editions of the weekly newspaper "A" were printed at 11 am. On Thursday, the new weekly newspaper for eastern Switzerland was delivered to readers for the first time.

On Thursday, "A", the new weekly newspaper with the widest reach in eastern Switzerland, appeared for the first time, according to a release from the NZZ media house. The launch at the printing center in Winkeln, St. Gallen, was attended by around 100 people on Wednesday, including customers, partners and representatives from politics and business. They witnessed how Christine Bolt, Head of Reading Market at Tagblatt Medien, pressed the start button of the printing press at 11 a.m.. The participants were then allowed to look over the printers' shoulders as they worked. 864 printing plates were needed to produce the weekly newspaper. After just a few minutes, the guests held the first copies of the freshly printed newspaper in their hands.

Subscribers to the "St. Galler Tagblatt" and its regional editions, as well as the "Thurgauer Zeitung," will now receive "A" every Thursday as a supplement to their newspaper. At the same time, "A" will also be distributed to non-subscribers in eastern Switzerland. The previous free newspapers "Anzeiger", "GOZ" and "HeZ" are now part of "A".
