Publishing director leaves Annabelle

His position was eliminated as part of a restructuring in the publishing management. The 46-year-old turned down another position, according to Zurich-based publisher Tamedia. He has headed the Annabelle publishing house since 2007.

As of January 1, 2014, Walter Vontobel will take over as publishing director of the German-Swiss Magazines division as well as Finanz und Wirtschaft, the company previously announced. In the course of this merger, Daniel Schnüriger's position has been eliminated, Tamedia company spokesman Michele Paparone said on Monday in response to an inquiry from SDA. The 46-year-old had been offered another executive position. However, he prefers to look for a new professional challenge.

Before becoming publishing director of Annabelle, Schnüriger had held various positions at the Tamedia media group since 1995, including head of advertising sales for Annabelle and head of advertising for the news magazine Facts. From 2006, as Head of Advertising Market Magazines, he was responsible for the sale of Annabelle, Schweizer Familie, the news magazine Facts and the program guide TV täglich. In recent years, Daniel Schnüriger has made a significant contribution to the successful positioning of the women's magazine in the advertising and reader market as publishing director of Annabelle, according to a statement on Monday.
