Cannes Lions: Lion of St. Mark Award for Lee Clow

The Cannes Lions Festival of Creativity, which celebrates its 60th anniversary this year, has honored Lee Clow, Chairman of TBWA, with the Lion of St. Mark Award. The award is given for outstanding contributions to creativity in advertising and communication.

Lee Clow, known as the creator of the prestigious commercial for the launch of the Apple Macintosh in 1984, as well as for campaigns for Pepsi, Adidas, Gatorade, Pedigree and Duracell (Duracell bunny), has been working in the advertising industry for over 40 years. Together with Steve Jobs, he developed the world-famous Apple campaign "Think Different" in 1997.

Terry Savage, Chairman of the Lions Festival: "Lee is a source of inspiration and a genius when it comes to telling brand stories in an artful way - and last but not least, he's a true Californian surfer. True to his beliefs and with his refreshing approach to the work, he has created the best campaigns out there. We are proud and honored to present Lee with the Lion of St. Mark Award."

Lee Clow, who will also be speaking at the festival, will receive the award on June 22, 2013 in Cannes. Previous winners of the award are Dan Wieden (2012) and Sir John Hegarty (2011).

Publicitas Cinecom is the Swiss representative of the Cannes Lions, Eurobest Festival of Creativity, Dubai Lynx and Spikes Asia festivals and supports the festival participants during the preparations and the organizers during the implementation.
