Swiss crowdfunding platform Wemakeit.ch is online
From now on, cultural projects can be discovered and supported on Wemakeit.ch. A total of 20 projects from the field of culture are at the start.
The website enables a large number of supporters to realize a project together with an artist, according to a press release. The artist determines in advance how much money he wants to raise in which period of time and how he wants to reward the audience. If the funding target is reached within the specified time, the money is transferred to the artist immediately. If he does not reach the goal, he will not receive any money and the supporter will not be charged. The artist retains control over his project and can realize it quickly and unbureaucratically. As a thank you for their financial commitment, the supporters receive the certainty that all these projects only come about thanks to them, as well as individual rewards such as signed books, invitations to special events, limited edition photo prints, a date with an actor, a personal Skype concert, a screenplay that has not yet been filmed or a birthday mixtape, according to the statement.
Wemakeit.ch is backed by three names from the arts and culture scene: Rea Eggli, Jürg Lehni and Johannes Gees. The development of the platform is supported by the Ernst Göhner Foundation, the Migros Culture Percentage and the Swiss Arts Council Pro Helvetia.
