Der Sonntag: Personnel change and regional alliance for both Basel
Journalist Christian Mensch joins the editorial team of Der Sonntag and Basellandschaftliche Zeitung BZ. He will head the new Sonntag regional paper for Basel-Stadt and Baselland as of September 1, 2011.
Christian Mensch is currently head of the federal house editorial department of the Basler Zeitung, before which he headed the Baz research team for eight years. Mensch previously worked for Tages-Anzeiger, Weltwoche and Facts. He has distinguished himself in particular as a media journalist, according to a statement from AZ Medien. Mensch studied German and history at the University of Basel.
Regional Alliance
Starting at the end of August, Der Sonntag will appear with an edition for both Basel - with the aim of offering readers in and around Basel even more research, analysis and background from the region, just under four years after the launch of Der Sonntag, the statement continues. At the time of the launch of the Sunday edition of both Basel, the Basellandschaftliche Zeitung BZ will also expand its reporting in the lower Basel region as well as marketing activities in its home area.
Today, Der Sonntag is strongly anchored in six regions (Aargau, Baselland, Limmattal, Olten, Solothurn-Bern, Zofingen), each with its own newspaper, with a circulation of 170,368 copies and 380,000 readers.
