Swiss court rules in favor of Swatch in dispute with Apple

A Swiss court has backed Swatch in a trademark dispute with the US technology group Apple. Specifically, the case concerns the slogan "Tick different," which Swatch wanted to protect as a trademark.

However, Apple saw this as an attack on the "Think different" advertising campaign that the U.S. company had launched and took action against it ( reported). The Swiss Federal Administrative Court now said Apple's trademark was not sufficiently well-known in Switzerland to allow the U.S. company to revoke it. "Thus, the appeal is to be dismissed," it said on Tuesday. (SDA)
