Swiss court rules in favor of Swatch in dispute with Apple

A Swiss court has backed Swatch in a trademark dispute with the US technology group Apple. Specifically, the case concerns the slogan "Tick different," which Swatch wanted to protect as a trademark.

However, Apple saw this as an attack on the "Think different" advertising campaign that the U.S. company had launched and took action against it (Werbewoche.ch reported). The Swiss Federal Administrative Court now said Apple's trademark was not sufficiently well-known in Switzerland to allow the U.S. company to revoke it. "Thus, the appeal is to be dismissed," it said on Tuesday. (SDA)
