21 Swiss print stores, agencies and companies submitted 27 print products for this year's competition. From these, the nine-member jury presented 13 winners in five categories with a Swiss Print Award. The winners received the award with a beaming smile, applauded by around 120 guests.

The award has been presented since 2013 under the motto "Lust for Print" and has already developed great appeal in the print industry.

Previous organizers withdraw

After presenting the awards, the previous organizers of the Swiss Print Award, Jean-Paul Thalmann, publisher of the Print Market Switzerlandand the editor-in-chief of the trade magazine, Klaus-Peter Nicolai, are announcing various changes: Both will retire from the Swiss Print Award. From 2020, the award will be continued and modernized by five long-standing jury members in a joint management (picture below, with Jean-Paul Thalmann and Klaus-Peter Nicolai on the far left).

From 2020, the new management team will comprise Marco Bieri, Alexander Colby, Anne-Friederike Heinrich, Beni Kiser and Michael Waldvogel, all well-known figures from the print and communications industry.

As most of the previous jury members are taking on new tasks with the operational management, the Swiss Print Award jury will also be staffed with new creative minds. The management team is currently putting together the new jury and is already initiating other important changes. "The most important change will be that we will no longer 'only' award excellent Swiss print. We are looking for bridges that print builds into the future," the new organizers are quoted as saying. "But the irrepressible 'desire for print' will continue to be our driving force." (pd/hae)
