Despite year-on-year increase: advertising print continues to decline slightly

Advertising pressure fell slightly in all media in February, but remains stable compared to the previous year. These are the findings of the Goldbach Index (GEMI) on advertising pressure in February 2017.


Total advertising pressure for all media is still up on the previous year. However, the figures, which have been rising steadily since the beginning of 2016, have been declining slightly since the start of 2017. Advertising pressure in display advertising has also fallen by a few points in February since a slump in September 2016. The figures for electronic media, which have been falling slightly since September 2016, did not show any upward trend in February either. TV and radio advertising pressure also fell slightly in February.
