TKF stages "The Regiment's Daughter
For Musiktheaterwil's latest production - "Die Regimentstochter" - TKF creates a campaign subject that combines two completely different worlds in a surprising way, elegantly transporting the core of comic opera and making it tangible.
Those who know the play will immediately discover the highly symbolic character of the subject. For all those to whom "The Regimental Daughter" means nothing, this much may be revealed: Gaetano Donizetti's work is set in the harsh world of soldiers. As the only woman in a regiment, the main character Marie manages to let emotions grow through her femininity.
The helmet symbolizes the regiment: rough, scuffed, hard. Nevertheless, flowers grow from it: lovely, sensual. The motif stands for peace, also for the power of femininity and for the beauty of nature. And it ultimately shows that even from the most difficult conditions, in the end, the good can grow.
