The largest chandelier in Europe is now interactive

For the first time in 2016, the chandelier in the Wannerhalle in Zurich's main train station spread a contemplative mood during the Christmas season. This year, the largest chandelier in Europe can be interactively illuminated by passers-by. It was designed by Aroma.

With an impressive height of 17 meters, a diameter of six meters and a weight of around 1,800 kilos, a shower of lights in the form of a chandelier adorns the station concourse and the exit to the basement again this year. The chandelier, designed by Aroma, features 25,000 LED lights that can be individually programmed. This allows not only classic light showers, but also colorful light shows in over 16 million different colors.

Using a touch screen on site, passers-by and commuters can select their own lighting effects and play them back via the chandelier. Thanks to its many possibilities, this light installation stands for ecological as well as digital progress and will continue to provide many surprises in the years to come.

The chandelier was designed by Aroma on behalf of SBB and produced by MK Illumination. It will be in operation in the Wannerhalle in Zurich HB until January 07, 2018.
