Benny Schiegg becomes new CEO of Kingfluencers

The Board of Directors of the Swiss social influence agency Kingfluencers has appointed Benny Schiegg as the new Chief Executive Officer. The previous CEO, Christian Reiter, and the previous Chief Operations Officer, Roman Gertsch, will in future increasingly take care of Kingfluencers' strategic issues on the Board of Directors.

As of October 15, 2020, Benny Schiegg will take over operational responsibility of Kingfluencers. The 40-year-old has been with the social influencer agency as Chief Client Officer since the beginning of May 2020. He previously worked for four and a half years as a team leader in key account management for the Evian brand at Danone. Before that, the Zolliker worked in sales and marketing at Nike for seven years.

As the new Managing Director, Benny Schiegg primarily wants to further expand and professionalize the company's consulting expertise. Kingfluencers is to become even more of a consulting house in the future. Together with the more than 15 employees, he wants to offer inspiring creative concepts for campaigns and increasingly focus on social media strategy consulting for national and international companies.

Now that the previous CEO, Christian Reiter, has completed the set-up and development phase of the company and the creation of numerous digital tools, he would like to hand over the operational business to his colleague in a month's time. Having found and proven a long-term business model, he says it is now time for a more commercial CEO. According to Reiter, Benny Schiegg is exactly the right person for the strong growth phase that now follows: "Benny is very ambitious and shows full ownership. He immediately recognizes strategic opportunities in the fast-growing social influencer space and wants to bring this expertise to Kingfluencers' customers in a more holistic way in the future."

As one of three founders, Christian Reiter has led the fortunes of Kingfluencers as CEO since January 2017.

Reiter and Gertsch focus on the BoD

Reiter will continue to support the new CEO Schiegg after the handover of operations, especially in the technology area, and will then focus mainly on his board mandate. Chief Operations Officer and Chairman of the Board of Directors Roman Gertsch will also withdraw from the Kingfluencers management team, but will continue to support the new CEO in financial and governance matters.

Gertsch, as co-founder like Reiter, has served as COO at the social influencer marketing agency since 2017 and will focus more on his leadership role on Kingfluencers' board of directors in the future.

Yoeri Callebaut becomes Chief Marketing and Growth Officer

As part of the realignment of the Executive Board, Yoeri Callebaut will be appointed Chief Marketing & Growth Officer as of October 15, 2020. The Belgian looks back on an international career in this field. Among others, he was Senior Marketing Manager at Philips Benelux and Strategy and Marketing Director EMEA at RMG Networks.

The Kingfluencers management will continue to be supported by Co-Founder Fabian Plüss, who, in addition to the Commercial sector, will increasingly take care of the Public Relations and Strategic Partnerships sectors. The Executive Board will be complemented by Chief Influence Officer & Creative Director Anja Lapčević, who was appointed in July 2020.
