Urs Gredig has been working in various functions at Schweizer Radio und Fernsehen since May 2003. After more than 14 years, the 47-year-old is now leaving the company. After his first job as an editor in the entertainment department, Urs Gredig moved to the editorial department of "Tagesschau" in 2004, where he first worked as editor and presenter of "Tagesschau Nacht" and from 2005 to 2007 as presenter of the midday, evening and night editions. From 2007, Urs Gredig anchored the main edition of "Tagesschau". He was also the main presenter of the election program "Entscheidung 11".

In October 2013, Urs Gredig moved to the TV correspondent post in Great Britain, and in spring 2017 he returned from London. Even before that, in January 2017, Urs Gredig hosted the "Blackout" theme day. Since his return from the UK, he has been filling in as host at the "Club" for Thomy Scherrer, who has fallen ill. Urs Gredig will continue to take on this deputy role on a part-time basis until he leaves SRF. He is expected to host his last show on September 19.

Gredig will become editor-in-chief of CNN Money Switzerland, Switzerland's first English-language finance and business channel. He will take up the post in late summer. Frédéric Lelievre will take over as deputy editor-in-chief. The 45-year-old journalist from French-speaking Switzerland joins CNN Money Switzerland from Hong Kong, where he worked as a correspondent for Le Temps, TV5 Monde and Le Figaro until the end of June 2017. Their extensive experience in reporting on Switzerland and their broad international network in key foreign markets are ideal prerequisites for Urs Gredig and Frédéric Lelievre to form a successful management team at CNN Money Switzerland, the broadcaster writes in a statement.
