The Champions League final and one match per round will again be shown live on SRF, RTS and RSI on free-to-air television and on their online platforms in the 2024/25, 2025/26 and 2026/27 seasons. In addition, the two finals and one match per round of the Europa League or Europa Conference League will be broadcast live. SRG has secured the corresponding live rights via a sublicense with Blue Sport, as well as directly from UEFA.

Blue Sport has again acquired the broadcasting rights - as in the current contract phase. Thanks to SRG's sublicense with Blue Sport, one match per round will be shown live on SRG's channels in the three seasons in the group stage - a total of 17 live matches including the final. SRG has secured the live rights to the Champions League final thanks to a direct agreement with UEFA. If a Swiss team reaches the playoff stage, SRG will show an additional two matches live (a total of 19 matches). As part of the agreement, SRG has sublicensed the Champions League final to blue Sport for broadcast on pay.

The two other European club competitions - the UEFA Europa League and the UEFA Europa Conference League - will also be shown on SRG's channels for three seasons from the 2024/25 season. Under the sublicense with blue Sport, SRF, RTS and RSI will be able to broadcast a total of 17 group matches and the two finals of the competitions on free-to-air TV and on their online platforms.

From the 2024/25 season, the Champions League on Wednesday evenings and the Europa League or Conference League on Thursday evenings will once again be part of SRG's live offering. As part of the sublicense, SRG will continue to have comprehensive highlight rights to all matches in the three competitions from the 2024/25 season. Thanks to the agreements, the three top European competitions, the best Swiss footballers and hopefully also Swiss teams can be seen on free-to-air television in all parts of the country.

Reaction from CH Media

CH Media also reacted to the awarding of the rights: It regrets the loss, it said in a statement. CH Media would have liked to continue showing games on private free TV in the new rights cycle and finance them without fee money. "We regret Blue's award decision, but at the same time we would like to thank them for their excellent cooperation during the current rights period. SRG's offer was obviously unbeatable. The fact that fee-financed television is spending such high amounts on sports rights is astonishing to us - especially since SRG is now paying significantly higher contributions than those it assessed as 'too high' for the current cycle after the rights award was last lost to CH Media," says Roger Elsener, Managing Director Entertainment and member of the Executive Board of CH Media. "It is irritating that public TV is competing with private TV providers in an area that private companies can cover just as well."
