With their own podcast, the Young Boys want to share club life with their fan community and give them exclusive insights. The concept for the YB podcast was developed in close cooperation between Newsroom Communication and BSC YB. While Newsroom is fully responsible for the technology, the recording and the post-production, YB takes care of the organization around the recording date as well as the sponsoring. The presenter is the YB fan radio station Radio Gelb-Schwarz.
In the first episode of the YB Podcast, midfield talent Fabian Rieder talks in a very personal conversation with Lucas and Brian - both part of Newsroom Communication and Radio Gelb-Schwarz - about the omnipresent YB values, why he once almost signed with a rival and why he still wants to wait with a move abroad. It quickly became clear that this first episode with Fabian Rieder was a complete success and that the YB podcast was a necessity: in the meantime, it was the most listened to sports podcast in Switzerland. So far, the episode has been listened to more than 8,000 times across all platforms, and more than half of the listeners stayed with it until the end.
These figures make Sebastian Helbig, Head of Department Sponsoring at YB, happy: "We are extremely satisfied with our new podcast format. The fact that we immediately became the number one sports podcast in Switzerland is, of course, outstanding."
Brian Ruchti, CEO of Newsroom Communication and co-host of the first episode of the YB podcast: "We are proud to be working with YB to implement this exciting audio format and that the Newsroom portfolio now includes podcasts."
Podcast also for the SCL Tigers
In the meantime, Newsroom Communication was already able to realize another podcast: The club's first podcast episode was produced in Emmental at the SCL Tigers. The guest was the new head coach Thierry Paterlini.
