CH Media brings forward launch of PilatusToday by one week

Central Switzerland's news portal PilatusToday is launched earlier than planned due to the massive increase in demand for timely information as a result of the Corona pandemic. Since Wednesday, March 25, the convergent news editorial team of Radio Pilatus and Tele 1 has been serving users daily and around the clock with news, services and entertainment from their region.

The regional news portal PilatusToday goes live today and thus starts a week earlier than planned. "As a private company, CH Media is close to the market and not only senses it, but acts accordingly. We can react very quickly to changing circumstances - which is why we are already launching PilatusToday today," said Florian Wanner, Head of Radio CH Media, in a statement.

PilatusToday adds a digital news portal to the existing journalistic offerings of Radio Pilatus and Tele 1. Following the successful development of FM1Today in eastern Switzerland, the expansion into central Switzerland is a logical step in the direction of digitization, CH Media added in the statement.

Behind the new news portal is a freshly recruited team of more than ten editors, working hand in hand with the trimedial Central Switzerland regional editorial team. The new team is headed by Yanik Probst. In his role, he reports to Matthias Oetterli, who heads the trimedial editorial team in Central Switzerland.

The expanded editorial team creates and prepares current content trimedially and makes it available to the people of Central Switzerland in real time via PilatusToday. "The CH Media success model FM1Today in eastern Switzerland shows that interest in regional and local news is unbroken. Young and mobile people in particular want to know what's happening in their region," says Christian Ortner, Head of Digital TV Regional and Radio.

PilatusToday will go live on March 25, 2020 and will be available via desktop and app (Google Play & Apple Store). The launch was announced in autumn 2019 (Werbewoche.ch reported).
