Radio Bern 1 makes new appointments to management positions

Bern's private radio station Radio Bern 1 is filling various management positions with new appointments and changing its divisional structures as of October 1, 2019. The Marketing and Sales division will be separated and staffed with two managers. The position of program management will be newly created.

Bernhard Hunziker will be the new Sales Manager at Radio Bern 1. The 49-year-old from Thun has spent the last few years as a consultant and team leader at the Weber advertising agency in Thun. He gained radio experience as a sales consultant at Radio Förderband (now Energy Bern) and as sales manager at Radio Emme (now Neo1).

Janine Vultier is the new Head of Marketing. The 33-year-old from Bern is a marketing specialist with a federal certificate, event manager and desktop publisher. Her work stations included Radio Energy, where she was employed as Project Manager Promotions and Events in Bern from 2013-2016.

Tobias Karlen will be the new editorial director. The 28-year-old from the Oberland has a Bachelor of Arts degree in social sciences with a focus on politics, media and communications. He has already been working as a radio journalist for several years and has been with Radio Bern 1 for just over half a year.

Dominique Hofer will be the new head of programming at Radio Bern 1. The position is newly created and includes, among other things, strategic responsibility for the areas of moderation and editing. Hofer has already been Head of Moderation at Radio Bern 1 since 2011, a position he will continue to hold.

The Executive Board consists of Peter Scheurer (Managing Director), Dominique Hofer (Program Manager) and Bernhard Hunziker (Sales Manager). The extended management team includes Janine Vultier (Marketing), Tobias Karlen (Editorial) and Tobias Flückiger (Music).

Marielle Gygax, the previous Editorial Director, and Melanie Schär, the previous Head of Sales and Marketing, have left the company at their own request.
