Marielle Gygax becomes new editorial director at Radio Bern 1

On December 1, Marielle Gygax will take over as editor-in-chief of Radio Bern 1. The 28-year-old journalist has been working at Radio Bern1 for two years as editor and deputy editor-in-chief.

Marielle Gygax began her career in 2009 with a traineeship at the Seeland regional television station TeleBielingue, where she later also worked as a video journalist, presenter and producer. She then worked as an editor and sports coordinator at Radio Canal 3, completed a diploma in journalism at the MAZ in Lucerne and moved to Radio 32, where she was awarded the Aargau/Solothurn Media Prize in 2015.

"I'm looking forward to producing exciting stories with the team to inform our more than 100,000 listeners about Bern and the world every day," says Marielle Gygax about her new position as Editorial Director.

Marielle Gygax succeeds Maria Wieland, who is leaving the station at her own request after four years.
