Two new members on the SDA Board of Directors

There were two changes on the Board of Directors of SDA at the Annual General Meeting on June 21. Serge Reymond, Head of Paid Media at Tamedia, and Ueli Eckstein, Head of Special Products Journalism at Tamedia, are new members of the Board.

Pietro Supino, Chairman of the Board of Tamedia and President of the Swiss Media Association, and Thierry Meyer, Editor-in-Chief of "24 heures," resigned from the Supervisory Board after seven years and three years respectively.

The SDA shareholders elected Serge Reymond, Head of Paid Media at Tamedia, and Ueli Eckstein, Head of Special Products Journalism at Tamedia, as new members of the Board of Directors, SDA announced on Wednesday. Hans Heinrich Coninx, who has chaired the SDA Board of Directors for 14 years, and the six members Sandra Jean, Walter Bachmann, Matthias Hagemann, Hanspeter Lebrument, Hanspeter Kellermüller and Giacomo Salvioni were confirmed in office.

Serge Reymond, 54, has been a member of Tamedia's Management Board since May 1, 2011. He has worked for Galenica and the Swatch Group, among others, before taking over the management of Naville-Détail, the kiosk and distribution company in western Switzerland, in 1997. In 2007, he was appointed Delegate of the Board of Directors of the entire Naville Group. Reymod joined Groupe Edipresse in 2009 as Vice Chairman of the Executive Board. As of June 1, 2009, he took over as Chairman of the Executive Board of Edipresse Suisse.

64-year-old Ueli Eckstein has been in charge of various projects at Tamedia since January 2017. He will continue to work for Tamedia in this function beyond his retirement, which is due in mid-2017. Eckstein was a member of Tamedia's Executive Board from September 2009 to December 2016 and was responsible for the Regional Media German-speaking Switzerland division. Prior to that, he served as Deputy CEO and Head of Print Media at AZ Medien. Before joining AZ Medien, the trained typesetter had already worked for Tamedia from 1976 to 1997.
