New management for Ringier China

Geoffrey G. Ng will take over from interim Managing Director Robert Ferguson at Ringier China as of August 22, 2016, reporting directly to Florent de Rocca-Serra, General Manager Ringier Asia Pacific.

Geoffrey G. Ng holds a Bachelor of Commerce from McGill University in Montreal, Canada, according to a statement. From 2010 to 2013, he was Editor-in-Chief of City Weekend magazine at Ringier China in Shanghai. He then moved to Hyatt International and was responsible for the communication measures of the Andaz Shanghai hotel as Marketing & Communications Manager. Since 2015 he managed the marketing agency Colt21 and was responsible for the online travel magazine Travelog.me as Editor-in-Chief.

Florent de Rocca-Serra, General Manager Ringier Asia Pacific is delighted with the new addition: "Our operations in China will benefit from his extensive experience in digital and the Chinese market."

The Ringier Group publishes around 12 online and print products in China. These include the in-flight magazine CAAC, the free English magazine City Weekend as well as City Weekend Parents & Kids and the English family magazine Shanghai Family. The digital portfolio includes the English community site shanghaiexpat and also the online presence of City Weekend. Ringier currently employs more than 120 people in China, with offices in Shanghai, Beijing, Suzhou, Shenzhen, Guangzhou and Hong Kong.
